Recreational Services Celebrates 25 years

011

This month Recreational Services turned 25 years old. To celebrate the incredible journey and to thank our communities for their ongoing support, each of the teams around the country took some time to pay it forward in their own unique way with random acts of kindness.

It’s fair to say the team were willing and rearing to go in celebrating the company’s 25 years of success.  Everyone here enjoyed getting into the party mode.

The Masterton Team, in kiwi style set up a BBQ station in Library Square. 300 sausages were purchased, and around 270 were consumed – It is fair to say, Masterton locals can’t resist a sausage sizzle. The feedback from the public was very humbling with many grateful for the small gesture but also our role in their community.  The team like the rest of the depots, also gave out cards to all who got involved which put them in the draw to win $1,500.

Thank you to all who were involved, it was a brilliant day celebrated in classic kiwi style.

Babes Fishing Competition

We have donated $600.00 to the Castlepoint Battle of the Babes Fishing Competition which is basically a yearly women’s event with a range of prizes for different categories of the largest fish species. The money was put forward to a number of prizes for the categories and Recreational Services were recognised for their sponsorship in the prize giving process.

Lansdowne Kindergarten

We have donated $600.00 to the Lansdowne Kindergarten in Masterton where the money was going towards the purchase of a hand operated water pump for pre-school children to understand the mechanics of water and learn about water reticulation and recycling. The pump is part of a bigger picture where there will be waterways and a pond in which the water is contained in a reservoir situation and the water is reticulated via a pump and the surrounds will be landscaped. The water is to be used for watering the vegetable garden etc that the children have a large involvement in. This is a great project where the children can learn about the irrigation of plants and the value of water for the sustenance of life.

Local Sports Clubs

  • Through the Rugby Season last year we donated water bottles in 2014 to the Red Star Rugby Club and the Gladstone Rugby Club for their younger players. Also we donated water bottles at the start of the rugby season 2015 to the Wairarapa College First 15 Senior Rugby Team along with the above mentioned teams.

  • We have already had an approach from the Masterton Bowling Club in Dixon Street who have three of our staff members in the club along with other family members and are looking for sponsorship for a tournament which is going to be held in January 2016. We have promised to donate $300.00 to this organisation and they will look into the display of one of our company signs at their grounds along with entering our company name in brochures etc.
